WhiteLine technical library

Source first.
No invented systems.

English working briefs built from the supplied manufacturer data sheets and one added W61T direct-bond source. Every entry identifies the exact technical code and links back to Knauf.

How to read this library

The English text is a structured WhiteLine summary for system selection and customer explanation. It does not replace the manufacturer document, current UK evidence or a project-specific specification.

Public source policy: full manufacturer PDFs and original image extracts are not rehosted while redistribution permission is unconfirmed. The public library keeps the summary, document code and official manufacturer link.

The boundaries stay explicit: W61 is not dot-and-dab; D12 is not a universal MF ceiling; VT02 components are not a certified complete ceiling; Rotkalk is not drylining or jointing; Fireboard steel protection is specialist fire work; and fire or acoustic performance is never a property of one board or profile alone.

Steel profiles and installation components

VT02 identifies metal profiles, hangers, connectors, anchors, screws and specialist accessories used across dry-construction work. It is useful for component selection and compatibility checks.

What the source controls

  • CW and UW profiles for wall framing
  • CD and UD profiles for ceilings and framed linings
  • UA reinforcement profiles for openings and higher local duties
  • Hangers, connectors, anchors and board-fixing screws
WhiteLine boundary

VT02 describes components, not a complete certified ceiling system. Profile size, centres, suspension, anchorage, corrosion class and board build-up must come from the selected complete construction and the actual substrate.

Loads and reinforcementVT03_TI.de · 01/2025

Fixing loads to walls and ceilings

VT03 separates light fixings into board from heavier or repeated loads that need a planned traverse, reinforcement or full-height support. It also covers load attachment to plasterboard ceilings.

What the source controls

  • Board-only fixings and their limited applications
  • Universal and dedicated support traverses
  • Reinforcement for sanitary fittings and concentrated loads
  • Ceiling loads and supports planned before boarding
WhiteLine boundary

VT03 is used where reinforcement or load-bearing support is relevant. It does not by itself define a complete service-boxing construction. Capacity still depends on the verified build-up, fixing, load direction and spacing.

Specialist fire protectionK25S.de · 03/2022

Fireboard encasement to steel beams and columns

K252 and K253 describe Fireboard protection around structural steel beams and columns, including framed and clip-fixed arrangements, board layers and junction logic.

What the source controls

  • K252 beam encasement
  • K253 column encasement
  • Single- and multi-layer arrangements
  • Board support, butt-joint backing and enclosure geometry
WhiteLine boundary

Fireboard steel protection is specialist fire work, not standard domestic boxing. Any fire-resistance claim requires current UK-applicable evidence, the verified steel section factor and the complete approved build-up.

Framed wall liningsW61.de · 11/2023

W61 independent and direct-fixed framed linings

The W61 family covers plasterboard wall linings on metal substructures: CD profiles fixed back to the wall and independent CW-profile linings with single, multiple or paired frames.

What the source controls

  • W623: CD 60/27 lining fixed back to the substrate
  • W625: independent CW frame with one board layer
  • W626: independent CW frame with multiple board layers
  • W627 and W653: specialist multi-profile or heavy-board variants
WhiteLine boundary

W61 is a framed lining family. W61 is not dot-and-dab, and it must not be substituted for adhesive direct bonding in drawings, quotations or performance claims.

Direct-bond wall liningW61T.de / W611.de · 12/2016

Trockenputz direct-bond plasterboard lining

W611 is the direct-bond plasterboard method within W61T. The manufacturer distinguishes thin-bed fixing on even backgrounds, adhesive dabs for unevenness up to 20 mm and plasterboard levelling strips where unevenness is greater than 20 mm.

What the source controls

  • Dry, load-bearing and preferably even substrate
  • Background preparation selected for the substrate
  • Bonding method selected for the measured unevenness
  • Board alignment, junctions, jointing and decorative preparation
WhiteLine boundary

W61T/W611 direct bonding is separate from W61 framed linings. This German/European method is a technical basis; UK product availability, background suitability and any fire or acoustic claim still require separate verification.

Joint and surface compoundsTro165_BR.de · 09/2024

Compound selection by task and finish level

The product matrix separates bedding and joint fillers from fine finishing and full-surface compounds. Powder and ready-mixed products have different working, drying, strength and sanding characteristics.

What the source controls

  • Base fillers for concealed lower layers
  • Joint fillers for board-edge and tape systems
  • Fine compounds for feathering and surface closure
  • Full-surface compounds for Q3 and Q4 preparation
WhiteLine boundary

Product names alone do not establish compatibility. Board edge, tape requirement, layer position, moisture exposure and the specified finish level control the compound sequence.

Metal stud partitionsW11_DSS.de · 08/2026

W11 metal-stud wall family

The W11 family distinguishes single- and double-stud partitions and the number and location of board layers. It is the primary construction reference for WhiteLine metal-profile room divisions.

What the source controls

  • W111: single stud, one board layer each side
  • W112 and W113: single stud with two or three layers
  • W115 and W115V: separated double-stud arrangements
  • W116: linked double-stud construction
WhiteLine boundary

Wall height, duty, door openings, services, insulation, board layers and perimeter junctions are interdependent. Fire and acoustic values apply only to the complete documented variant.

Jointing and surface qualityTro89_BR.de · 06/2025

Q1-Q4 jointing and full-surface finishing

The working guide covers board-edge forms, tape selection, compound preparation, joint reinforcement, corners, movement at junctions, sanding, priming and the Q1-Q4 surface-quality sequence.

What the source controls

  • Board edge and mixed-joint assessment
  • Tape and compound sequence
  • Crack-resistant corners and abutments
  • Q1-Q4 quality levels, sanding and priming
WhiteLine boundary

A higher finish level cannot compensate for loose boards, unsupported edges, movement or poor alignment. Finish level and decorative expectation must be agreed before work starts.

Rotkalk mineral internal plaster system

Rotkalk is a lime-based internal plaster system intended for mineral wall finishes and indoor-climate performance. It is retained here to keep the material boundary explicit.

What the source controls

  • Mineral internal plaster rather than drylining
  • Substrate and layered plaster preparation
  • Indoor-climate claims belong to the source system
  • Separate UK product and compliance assessment required
WhiteLine boundary

Rotkalk is not plasterboard joint compound and is not presented as a core WhiteLine drylining service. Any use or performance claim requires a separate UK product, substrate and specification check.
